NORTHERN GOLD COAST

The northern stretches of the Gold Coast are perfect for holiday makers seeking fun, entertainment, nightlife and attractions. Precincts such as Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and Main Beach attract locals and visitors with their bright lights, nightlife and busy ‘see and be seen’ beaches. These areas are great for easy access to all kinds of attractions, shopping and fast paced entertainment. Most of the region’s theme parks are at the northern end of the city, just beyond the Surfers Paradise precinct.

SOUTHERN GOLD COAST

The further south you go on the Gold Coast, the more spectacular space you find. Southern precincts such as Burleigh, Currumbin, Kirra, and Greenmount are amazing stretches of golden white sand, iconic coastal towns and unbelievable tropical views. Just down the road from the city centre but a million miles away, the Southern Gold Coast enjoys a laid back style but still offers plenty of things to see and do.

BEACHES

Good beaches are expected in Australia, but only the Gold Coast has a 70 kilometer stretch of 30 different beaches each with their own personality. Some go on for ages, others are just quaint little coves. Some are renowned for their surf break, others aren’t known at all. From the glitzy to the secluded, they all have three things in common; fine golden sand, warm Pacific Ocean, and year round sunshine.

WATER ADVENTURES

A place blessed with so much coastline and a community so willing to have fun means there is plenty of on-water action. Surfing is of course a must-try and with learn-to surf classes run by former world champions there is not better place to start. Kayak adventures meander through the calm waters accompanied by dolphins and turtles to sacred Aboriginal sites. Jet Ski safaris and Jet Boat rides race around the islands of the Gold Coast Broadwater chasing excitement. Whale watching cruisers depart the marina and are amongst the giants of the ocean just 10 minutes from the shore. Sail, swim, kiteboard, paraglide, fish, ski, snorkel, scuba dive – it’s all on offer.

HINTERLAND DISCOVERIES

The Gold Coast is Australia’s most bio-diverse city, bordered by the Pacific Ocean on one side and world heritage listed rainforest on the other. Just 40 minutes from the beach is a hinterland of real subtropical rainforest, mountain villages, bushwalks, wineries, and a valley of working produce farms and cattle stations. Much of the hinterland is pristine mountain wilderness, accessed only by a reliable network of walking trails and hiking routes catering for adventurers of all levels. But some parts of the bush demand more from visitors; hang gliding, horse riding, 4WD tours, hot air ballooning, ATV adventures and canopy walks are a big part of the Gold Coast hinterland experience. The Springbrook and Lamington National Parks offer access to unbeatable Australian landscapes with some of the best campgrounds available and other special venues which have set the benchmark for modern, eco-friendly accommodation. It is a region full of wildlife, walking trails, educational tours, waterfalls, swimming holes and good old pioneering adventure.

ANIMAL ENCOUNTERS

It isn’t just the beach and the rainforest where nature can be encountered up close. The Gold Coast theme parks and wildlife sanctuaries offer extraordinary experiences with native Australian icons like kangaroos, koalas, emus, lorikeets, crocodiles, snakes, dolphins and even sharks.
